Samsung pre-installs a bunch of its own applications on every smartphone and tablet that it ships, often duplicating apps that are part of stock Android. One such app is its Internet Browser that has achieved more than one billion installs, which is pretty impressive when you consider that it as achieved more installs than Firefox and Opera combined.
As you might have guessed, a huge part of the reason that Samsung's Internet Browser app has reached the billion installs mark is that it's pre-installed on Galaxy smartphones and tablets. That being said, many Samsung phone users are complimentary about the Internet Browser, using it instead of Google's Chrome Browser that is also pre-installed.
As for Firefox and Opera, it's difficult to ascertain exactly how far behind they are in terms of the number of installations because of their respective Play Store statistics which report that they each have anywhere between 100 million to 999 million installations.
If you haven't given Samsung's Internet Browser a whirl on your device just yet, why not click the link below and install on your smartphone or tablet that is running on Android 5.0 Lollipop and above.
