Google wants to make it easier to donate to your favorite charities and organizations, and they started that process by allowing donations directly from the Play Store last year. Now they're going a step further and adding quick donation options right into Google Assistant and your local Google Home devices.
The process really is as simple as you think it would be; simply say “Okay Google, donate X dollars to Y organization.” You can also tell Google to “make a donation” or “donate to charity,” at which point Google Assistant will prompt you for the rest of the info. It'll ask what organization you want to donate to, followed by the amount that you want to donate.
But don't worry, accidentally telling your Google Home to donate to charity won't automatically empty your checking account. You'll still have to vocally confirm you want to make the donation to Google first. You'll still get receipts and everything from your donation, and it will charge your default Google Play payment method.
This obviously isn't a feature you'll be using every day, but during crisis events or natural disasters it's definitely going to be a welcome addition to Google's ecosystem.
