New images that are claimed to be for forthcoming Motorola Moto G7 devices suggest at least four different versions will be available. In a bit of an interesting twist, the images also show Motorola using different notch designs across the devices, which otherwise share a consistent design language. We have already seen a leak of the Moto G7 Plus with a very small notch described as a “waterdrop” style. At least two other notch sizes appear to be heading to the line of smartphones.
The latest images show both the Moto G7 Plus and the “standard” Moto G7 with the small, waterdrop notch. The small notch appears to house nothing more than a single camera sensor. The new images show the Moto G7 Power and the Moto G7 Play going in a slightly different direction with a wider notch housing additional hardware, including a flash for the G7 Play it appears. The notches appear to be slightly different in size the G7 Play getting the biggest notch to house the extra flash unit. The rest of the space looks like it may be used to house a front-facing speaker.
The design of the displays in this leak and the previous one also show what some consider to be a size-able chin. However, the renders thus far have not shown any indication that front-facing speaker will be placed there, which could have meant stereo front-facing speakers for the G7 Power and G7 Play. That scenario could still be possible depending on the accuracy of these leaked images.
Other hardware in the images continues to show the familiar Moto “batwing” logo in the back that is believed to house a fingerprint scanner and a housing for one or two camera lenses depending on the model.
