We all know that OnePlus is preparing to launch the OnePlus 6‘s successor at some point in October, with the 17th being a likely date, but apart from a few tidbits leaked by the company's co-founder Carl Pei, the rate of leaks has stopped well short of what we've seen with the Pixel 3. Some information about the new handset, including confirmation that it will indeed be called the Oneplus 6T, has come to light so join us after the break for more details.

As you can see from these images obtained by WinFuture, the new handset will be called the OnePlus 6T, which isn't too much of a surprise but needed to be confirmed all the same. The main image shows a OnePlus 6T in a Mirror Black finish sporting a dual rear camera setup and not the triple camera setup that is fast becoming a trendy smartphone feature since Huawei's P20 Pro launch back in March.

The eagle-eyed reader will note the lack of a fingerprint reader below the dual LED flash on the rear panel, thus re-confirming that the OP6T will sport an in-display fingerprint sensor, as stated by OnePlus previously. As you can see from the above image that compares the OnePlus 6 (Left) to the OnePlus 6T (Right), the new handset would appear to have a larger frame which indicates that it will sport a larger display. It's believed that the OnePlus 6T will feature a 6.41-inch OLED display with 2340 x 1080 resolution and 19:5:9 aspect ratio, although this information has been gleaned from the Vivo V11 Pro and Oppo's R17, both of which are part of the same stable. As for the notch, it will probably be a ‘waterdrop' design, as shown by the retail packaging that leaked a little while ago.
Besides it being rumored that OnePlus has finally managed to get a US carrier, believed to be T-Mobile in this instance, to sell the OnePlus 6T on its store shelves, the handset will also be sold exclusively via Amazon.in (India), as evidenced by this product teaser shown on the e-tailer's website.
While it's thought that the OnePlus 6T will be announced on October 17 (at an event in New York), OnePlus hasn't confirmed the date or place as yet. I'm sure we won't have too much to wait until the launch date is revealed.
