Skype is getting a Material Design update soon 4

Skype recently picked up a chat-focused redesign that was met with pretty mixed reviews. That wasn't great news, but Microsoft did commit to continue making changes until users were more content with the interface.

Microsoft updated their iPhone version of the Skype app with a bottom navigation bar, and many users seem to prefer that over the current Android implementation. To actually test that out, Microsoft has rolled up an updated version of a Skype preview build that sports the bottom navigation bar, a floating action bar, and general adherence to Google's Material Design philosophy.

So if you use Skype and are willing to test out preview builds, you can go ahead and give the new interface a spin. Who knows, maybe this will be the update that lights a fire under Skype and builds traction back up.
