Some Google Pixel 2 XL phones shipping with no operating system

More problems have surfaced for Google with their recently released Pixel 2 devices. The company has already seen several issues crop up surrounding the displays and now a new problem with the Pixel 2 XL is being discovered by new owners. This one is quite annoying as buyers are firing up their brand new devices only to discover the Android operating system is missing from their smartphone.

Several users on Reddit started posting about the problem. Upon their initial bootup of their new Pixel 2 XL, they are greeted with a message indicating the device “can’t find valid operating system.” Unfortunately, this problem is not something that can easily be addressed remotely by Google. That means the company has to send the customer a new device, hopefully one that does have an operating system installed. The good news is Google is issuing replacement devices as quickly as possible.

Google indicates the have corrected the problem that led to these devices leaving the door without an operating system.
