Slides revealing Samsung Galaxy S8 Active specs leaked 4

Samsung and AT&T must be getting close to launching the Galaxy S8 Active, a rugged version of the flagship Galaxy S8 that follows in the footsteps of similar offerings from AT&T. Apparently Samsung or AT&T has started the process of preparing people to be able to explain the features of this new variant and they prepared some slides for this purpose. Where there are slides there is a good chance a camera will be present along with someone willing to post what they capture to social media. That has happened in the case of this latest leak giving us an early peek at the specs for the new Galaxy S8 Active.

The slides appear to be devoid of any new information, but they do seem to confirm much of what we suspected. The internals of the device itself match the regular Galaxy S8 with a Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. One area that differs and is drawing considerable attention though is the battery which has been upgraded to a 4000mAh unit versus the normal 3000mAh unit.

Being a ruggedized unit, there are quite a few external differences. The size is bigger and the unit weighs more than a regular Galaxy S8. All of that is necessary to give the device the military grade certification. Another difference will be the colors available – Meteor Gray and Titanium Gold.

Finally, even though the Galaxy S8 Active does not have curved edges for the screen, Samsung is still marketing the device as having an Infinity edge display.
