The BlackBerry KeyOne is on sale in the U.S. for $549

BlackBerry's revival is underway, beginning in the United States today.

The KeyOne is now available from Best Buy and Amazon for $549.

With this phone, BlackBerry is trying a completely different strategy to return to relevancy in the mobile industry. The KeyOne actually isn't produced in-house. In late 2016, BlackBerry agreed to let TCL handle the manufacturing of its devices. All the company does now is develop software focused on productivity and security. It's more efficient for BlackBerry. As TCL creates modern hardware, BlackBerry works on what it knows best.

If you're wanting a throwback-feeling device, BlackBerry's latest is perfect. It comes with a full physical keyboard that features touch sensitivity. Aside from that, you get modest specifications. The KeyOne includes a 4.5-inch Full HD display, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 625, 3GB of RAM, a 12.3MP camera, and a 3505mAh battery.

Its price, $549, isn't too bad considering what you get. The specifications are current, the software is based on Android 7.1 Nougat, and the design plays exactly to who would buy the phone. Not many people are seeking phones with full physical keyboards, but the KeyOne wants to be the go-to for business folks.

Anyone who intends on buying the KeyOne needs to remember that there are multiple variants for GSM and CDMA networks.

Both retailers, though, appear to be completely out of stock. Neither Best Buy nor Amazon have any units to offer at the time of this post being published. Until they return, you'll just have to read our official review of the BlackBerry KeyOne.
