Android 7.1.2 Nougat now rolling out to devices in the Android Beta Program 4

The next maintenance release for Nougat is almost here — version 7.1.2. In fact, it's rolling out to eligible devices apart of the Android Beta Program right now!

If you're signed up for the Android Beta Program, you should see an update available to Android 7.1.2 Nougat on the Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 5X, Nexus Player, and Pixel C soon. A version is being prepared for the Nexus 6P as well, but isn't ready yet.

Keep in mind that there aren't any major changes here. It's an incremental upgrade, so you'll see bug fixes, optimizations and some small enhancements here or there.

If you're not enrolled in the Android Beta Program, be sure to follow our guide to get your handset enrolled.

Google says an official release of Android 7.1.2 Nougat should be ready within the next couple of months. It'll be available for the Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus Player, and Pixel C; however, upgrades for other flagship phones (e.g. the Galaxy S7 or LG V20) will be dependent upon the manufacturer and carriers.
