Tracking your sleep time and patterns is so 2016. In 2017 you'll finally have the option to buy the smart, connected Sleep Number bed that you were definitely not asking for, ever. That's what CES is all about, right?
The Sleep Number 360 smart bed wants to do more than just make you go to bed on time. Instead of simple sleep tracking, the system tracks how you're sleeping and adjusts the shape of the mattress to better match your body. If you toss and turn throughout the night, the bed will try and contour to you to give you a better sleep. It can also tilt your body to try and prevent snoring.
If those features aren't fancy enough for you, the Sleep Number 360 also features a foot warmer. Yep, this bed will keep your feet warm at night and can even warm up before you ever get in bed based on your sleep routine.
This bed builds off of Sleep Number's proprietary SleepIQ tech that assigns a “number” to what is most comfortable for you. It adjusts the shape, firmness, and support of the mattress, but being able to do it dynamically is a pretty drastic change over their current mattress lineups. Fortunately it does still offer some sleep tracking, so you technically could replace your Fitbit or other sleep tracker with Sleep Number's system.
I'm not sure that a connected bed is a great use of money for most people, but Sleep Number's site says it'll be priced similarly to their current lineup of non-smart beds. So if you're really struggling to get a good night's sleep and don't mind tossing too much technology into a mattress, 2017 might be your year.
Don't worry, the smart mattress isn't the only thing to come out of CES this year, and we have everything else covered.

Heck, i never asked for a smartwatch, a smart refrigerator, smart dishwasher, a smart oven, but it looks like I’m not going to have a choice in the future.
