Huawei has been rumored to launch a new Mate 9 handset as the successor to the Mate 8 for some time now. New details that have emerged say we could actually see four variations of the device and even show a release date set for this holiday season.
The first two variations will be a standard Mate 9 with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage for 3,899 yuan. According to the report from Weibo, we're expecting to see a improved variation of this model that brings 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage together for 3,899 yuan.
The report from Weibo says we should see a “top” and “Monarch” version as well. Both variations will be equipped with 6GB of RAM and a whopping 256GB of internal storage. The “top” version will come in at 4,699 yuan. The Monarch variant will come in a little bit pricier at 7,388 yuan, as it'll allegedly come with a new Huawei Watch 2 as well.

Interestingly, the different Mate 9 variants will all come in different colors. The Mate 9 should see a total of nine different colors, possibly more. This includes Amber Gold, Ceramic White, Amber Gray, Rose Gold, Moonlight Silver, Sky Gray, Mocha Gold, Champagne Gold, and Enamel Gloss Black.
Right now, it's beginning to look like we'll see the device right before the holidays. A November 8 launch is currently rumored, possibly making the Mate 9 a perfect Christmas gift this coming holiday season.
We're expecting the Mate 9 to feature a 6-inch display as well as the fast and powerful Kirin 960 processor. Dual 20-megapixel sensors are expected to be on the handset as well.
November 8 is still pretty far away at this point, but we'll no doubt hear more details as we get closer to the date.
