After the Galaxy Alpha debuted, it came to light that there would be a slew of similarly designed A series devices. After Samsung finally added metal to its plastic little world, people were paying more attention to the Korean company and hoped it would add metal to more of its devices. Well the folks at SamMobile got a peak at the next device in the A series line and it looks like the device is made up of a completely different type of material entirely.
The Galaxy A5 with a model number of SM-A500 will be a mid-range device that looks to be made of a material that's not metal — unlike what was previously thought — but cool to the touch. Metallic devices often carry a similar feel. It could be that Samsung has found a material that gives off this premium feel without breaking the bank.
On the hardware side of the coin, the A5 will pack a 5-inch HD Super AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 400, 16 GB (not all of that usable thanks to Touchwiz) of internal storage with a micro SD slot. It will have a 2,330mAh battery, a 13MP rear shooter with a 5 MP camera in the front. It will have the same new version of Touchwiz that was seen on the Note 4.
