After releasing the Samsung Galaxy Alpha, Samsung appears to be ready to launch a new line of devices based on the same design model. We learned earlier this week that Samsung has three devices in the works, all with an “A” in the model name, leading to the unofficial moniker of “A series” for the line. Now one of those devices, the SM-A500, has surfaced on the Bluetooth SIG web site after obtaining its certification. Not much information about the specs for the device can be gleaned from the Bluetooth SIG entry, although it does appear it may be dual SIM capable.
The Bluetooth SIG entry is the second spotting of this particular model. Earlier and entry for the SM-A500 was discovered on the Samsung web site. That information revealed it would have an HD display and would come loaded with KitKat. Sources have indicated all of the A devices would come with upgraded front-facing cameras relative to the rest of the Samsung portfolio.
Sources believe Samsung is ready to launch the devices before the end of September. If not announced during IFA 2014, an announcement shortly thereafter may be in the works.
