Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet heading to Verizon on July 17, pre-ordering starts tomorrow

Since the start of 2014, we heard about a Sony tablet making its way to Verizon. But for months, even after the Xperia Z2 Tablet launched, nothing ever became official and people continued to wonder whether or not it was actually going to happen. Today, Sony announced that the Xperia Z2 Tablet will join Big Red's network on July 17 with pre-ordering opening July 10. The price is $599 without a contract and $499 with a new two-year contract.

The Xperia Z2 Tablet is no slouch. It ships with Android 4.4.2 KitKat, but has Sony's own software layered over the stock experience. Inside is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 801 processor with 3GB of RAM. A 6000mAh battery is keeping this beast going and it includes a Stamina Mode when necessary. The Xperia Z2 Tablet also features dust and water resistant certifications, ensuring some durability. It may have a hefty price, but it is definitely worth it.

Pre-order for the Xperia Z2 Tablet at Verizon Wireless will begin on July 10 2014 at www.verizonwireless.com. Customers who pre-order the device will receive a MDR-NC31EM Noise Cancelling headset for free, while supplies last.
