Trying to pin down the specs of the Galaxy S5 has been tough. We've seen Snapdragon CPUs and Exynos CPUs in benchmarks, we've seen evidence that Samsung will use a QHD display, and then other evidence suggesting Samsung will stick with a 1080p display instead, and don't even think about trying to figure out what Samsung is going to do with TouchWiz. There's so much conflicting information, and all of it could end up being true if Samsung releases two models of the S5 like we've heard.
The latest rumor to throw on top of the pile comes in the form of the back of the GS5 packaging. The box looks pretty similar to the wood-style boxes Samsung uses for their current lineup of devices, so if it's a fake, it's pretty convincing. The box lists some pretty beefy specs, including a 2.5 GHz quad-core processor, 3 GB of RAM, a 20 megapixel rear camera and a 2 megapixel front camera, and a QHD 5.25 inch screen. It also looks like the S5 will sport a 3,000 mAh battery, which hopefully can power that screen for more than just a few hours. These specs all pretty much match up with the rumors that say Samsung is going all out this year, which is typically what Samsung does with their flagship devices.
Samsung has done a good job of keeping their S5 specs secret this year by just releasing a ton of mismatched information to keep people guessing. Between now and the time the device actually gets announced, I bet we're going to see a few more conflicting rumors, too.
