KGI Research just released its predictions for the next generation Galaxy S phone. From what it looks like there will be two models, as current rumors suggest. The prime model will have a 5.2 inch 2560×1440 display and the standard model will feature a 5.2 inch 1920×1080 display. That means that the prime model will have a whopping 565 pixels per inch and the standard model will have a display with 423 pixels per inch. Those aren't the only differences however.
The prime model will run on a Exynos Octa-core processor where the standard will feature a quad-core Qualcomm processor. Other than that, each device will have 3GB of RAM, a 16 MP camera, and a 2850 mAh battery. What's interesting is that there appears to be fingerprint support, lending weight to the rumor that the S5 will be sporting a fingerprint scanner. Besides the fingerprint scanner, there will be 3D gesture support. It's anyone's guess as to what exactly that is, but it may be that Samsung is looking to make its air gestures a bit more robust.
Samsung isn't in unfamiliar territory with multiple versions of its flagship device. Other than the processor and screen density, it doesn't look like there will be a huge difference between the prime and standard models.
