As the @DroidLanding Twitter account said it would, the ‘Droid Combat: Mission Alpha' augmented reality application was released to the Play Store today. It looks pretty interesting and it's a neat concept, and while the video mentions that there are “90 days until world domination occurs,” it's unlikely that this means anything regarding a new phone. This “hint” (if you want to call it that) would place any kind of new phone launch in late-September, which seems like a pretty far way from now— especially because the buzz from this game is not expected to last more than a month. But Verizon could always prove us wrong of course— after all, the last time they did something like this, the release of the Droid Bionic followed.
