Droid RAZR and Droid RAZR MAXX now receiving OTA update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean 5

Never before have we seen such a glorious Christmas present from Verizon, but it appears as though the original Droid RAZR and Droid RAZR MAXX are now receiving an over-the-air update to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. A large number of users are reporting that the update is quite hefty, though we still have yet to hear anything official from Verizon.

It seems the update is rolling out in stages, so if you aren't prompted right away, it shouldn't be too much longer. Alternatively, you can manually check for the update by heading into Settings > About Phone > System Updates. Be sure to let us know if you've managed to snag the update in the comments below.

  1. Well I did not get it so I called Mr Motor Ola and they say it is not available yet what the others were getting was leaked so a few got but others did not why not leak it to all of us :(

    Darryl Droid Maxx

  2. i download the razr maxx update from the link you provided. It is a zip file, how do run it? are there any instructions anywhere

  3. Update was leaked early and the download is suspended until who knows when. Those that got it downloaded are lucky. All I know is that whomever flipped the switch is going to get canned.

  4. I got the message that says… A new uograde is available, but when I clicked on the DOWNLOAD NOW tab…l got an error saying: “Sorry download was not successful”… I tried the system settings update option- tells me there are no updates available. What should I do?

  5. I received and installed Jelly Bean today but my Razr Maxx keeps rebooting when I enter my encryption password. A local authorized verizon store was unable to help me. Will call customer service soon to see how to get my phone working again.

  6. My RAZR said there is an update, i clicked download, it hardlocked the phone, i force shut out down, now when checking for updates manually, it says my phone is up to date

I have been reading.one it’s a hefty download, plus major stalls, I’m thankful for the update but when you can’t get it what’s the use
