(Update): Many of you have been having trouble locating this in the Android Market.  Make sure when searching to enter “Angry Birds Lite”.

The much anticipated puzzle game has made it's way onto the Android Market. As we told you earlier this week, Rovio had planned to release a beta of their already worldwide selling game on the Android Market, and they have not disappointed.

Beta test version of Angry Birds Lite. The survival of the Angry Birds is at stake! dish out revenge on the greedy pigs who stole their eggs. Use the unique powers of each bird to destroy the pigs' fortresses. Angry Birds features challenging physics-based gamplay that requires logic, skill, and force to crush the enemy.

The size of the app is 11.41 MB so it is not going to steal all your storage. Early impressions from my use of the game are good. I did notice a bit of jerky-ness about the cinematic sequences, which is to be expected of such an early beta. However, the game play is of high quality, as I haven't experienced any lag issues with it using my Desire. Zooming out, and the firing of birds are all very smooth.

The app also includes all the relevent links to Rovio's dedicated Facebook and Twitter pages, as well as links to signing for information regarding the full app as they announce it.

But enough of me talking, get out there and give this game a go!

  1. Worked perfect after I installed and played for several hours. Next day it only fills part of the screen and you can play it. I did the whole uninstall, clear cache, et al., reinstall. will not work. The second game wont even show on the screen. I’m using a t-mobile Comet to test with.

Great for first time by dont ever close the program if you dont have a ‘I***’ device.

  2. any fix for this yet

  3. i’M THINKING of getting rid of my Hero cause all the apps suck and the processer is too slow to run any quality games..

  4. I have a Hero with Sprint, downloaded the .apk, but when I try to install it, it tells me, “Angry Birds cannot be installed on this phone.” Why is it doing that? :(

  5. Been trying for a while now.
It always fails at first attempt, but after that it works great.
    Wifi or 3G doesn’t affect.
I believe it doesn’t support minimizing. It always exits when using the “Home” button.

    Using a SE Xperia X10

  6. Finally I got it from a mediafire link.

It started at my 3rd attempt.
It has been working fine for as long as I played with it.

  7. I have an Incredible with Froyo and I tried at least 10 times with it crashing on loading every time. Hopefully they post a fix soon!

  8. Gameplay is flawless on my Incredible with Froyo.

However, it has trouble loading – it crashes upon startup. I was able to load it on the 4th try twice, and on the 5th try once. A friend also with a Froyo Incredible reports giving up after 10 attempts to get it to load.’

Not to be confused with 2 other impostor apps, “Angry Birds” from CrazyAndroidApps, or “Angry Pissed Birds” from Aranha Infotech.

  9. Thanks for your quick reply, but it doesn’t appear anyway.
Even if I use the QR code it gets me no results.
    Wonder if it’s a country issue…
