Acer's Liquid A1 has certainly been around the block at this point, but the specs wouldn't reveal anything: 768Mhz processor, 800×480 display, 5MP camera. Nice specs right? They are pretty good, until you keep reading and find that the phone comes with Android 1.6.
Well Acer has fixed that by offering Android 2.1 to Liquid A1 users. To get the update, you go to the Driver Download section of Acer's website and navigate to the Liquid by clicking Smart Handheld > Liquid >Liquid.
At this point you're supposed to click on the pulldown menu and select Android 2.1 Eclair and then it should appear in the OS tab… But it's not doing it for me. French site les mobiles shows screenshots of it appearing if you select French as the native language, but 2.1 doesn't show up under French any more either.
So I guess you just have to keep your eyes peeled and if you find that it's available for download, let me know in the comments and I'll update this post.

I have not checked in here for some time as I thought it was getting boring, but the last several posts are great quality so I guess I¡¦ll add you back to my everyday bloglist. You deserve it friend :)

Hello i had the same problem, you have to go actually trough the French website https://www.acer.com/fr-fr/ and not us.acer[…] Good luck !
via the French acer-website, it still works:
