My wife's really been wanting a Nook. And I'm sure she'll get one. Although, I may have her try this app out first and see if it sates her hunger for her Barnes&Noble eBook reader.
This Nook Android app will sync everything from purchased titles to current page with your Nook if you already have one, or will allow you to purchase and read eBooks right there on your phone if you don't. They claim to have over 1 million titles available in their eBook store, and they have 8 font styles and 5 text sizes so you can customize your experience to meet your needs, as is the Android way.
I'll be checking this app out, so expect to hear my thoughts on it in the near future.

B&N does use DRM that needs to be removed if you want to use it in Aldiko (my favorite too).
One feature that needs to get added to Nook for Android is a Day/Night setting. I hate reading Black on White text and always switch to White on Black right away. So far I can not find this setting in Nook for Android.
Does this use a DRM ebook format or could I purchase ebooks and them read them in Aldiko, which is my preferred Android ebook reader.
I think of ebooks like music now. I want it DRM-free and available to open in whatever reader I like best.
e.g. Amazon MP3 app is not an MP3 player, it’s just a store.
It’s interesting that Amazon Kindle app is a mix of both, access to the store and then a reader too. Aldiko is the reverse, an ebook reader with access to a few free and paid ebook sources.
Actually, I have the same problem with this app that I do with the Kindle one: when you click on “shop for books” it takes you to the browser which then opens to an online store. Now, granted, this is a minor complaint. But compare that to the Borders app which has its store seamlessly integrated and it really makes the user experience flow better. I would also like a night mode. I do like the page turning interactivity and animation though,as well as the font choices. Very nice :-)
