Samsung is launching an Android Oreo beta for the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus soon 1

If you're eagerly waiting on Android Oreo for your Galaxy S8 (don't worry, we are too) it looks like you might be able to get a taste of Google's latest sooner rather than later. Samsung is reportedly prepping a beta program for Android 8.0 in a few countries which will let select customers test out the newest software before it becomes officially available.

The good news, if you happen to get invited to test it out, is that you'll get it well before everyone else. The bad news? Well, it's a beta program, which means you're going to get bugs and other software issues that can impact daily usage of your phone.

To get in on the beta software, you'll have to be enrolled in the Galaxy Beta Program through the Samsung Members app, and your region must be supported. This includes countries like the US, the UK, Germany, Spain, and others, but excludes the Netherlands and Belgium, according to the source.

Whether or not you're actually interested in testing the software, at least this means that Android 8.0 Oreo shouldn't be too far away for Samsung's 2017 flagships. And hopefully that means the Galaxy Note 8 isn't too far behind, either.
