New sign points to November launch of OnePlus 5T

A new source has posted a picture of an alleged marketing site for the OnePlus 5T that indicates the launch date will be November 16th. Assuming this is not a well-crafted photoshop job, this would seem to confirm previous rumors and leaks claiming OnePlus had a new phone in the works to follow on the OnePlus 5 that was released only a few months ago. The existence of the OnePlus 5T has been much debated, but the evidence continues to mount that it is a real thing and will be happening very soon.

The information found does provide a couple more clues about what to expect with regard to the OnePlus 5T. Besides the live launch event that appears to be scheduled for November 16th, sales of the device should commence in November as well although the actual date has been concealed. It would make sense for OnePlus to get this device on the street in time for Black Friday though.

The text also includes the phrase “Larger display. Same footprint.” Previous rumors have suggested OnePlus plans to give the OnePlus 5T a 6.0-inch screen and a bezel-less display design. One of the reasons so many manufacturers are jumping on the bezel-less design bandwagon is because they can provide a larger screen without increasing the physical size of a device, so the marketing language makes sense and supports the rumors.

Unfortunately, this leak does not get us any closer to figuring out whether the display will be Quad HD or just full HD. Sources also point to an improved camera for the OnePlus 5T and the addition of facial recognition software similar to Apple’s Face ID that can be used to unlock a phone.
