Changelog for Android 7.1.2 is up, contains mostly bug fixes

Google has posted the changelog for the latest incremental update to Nougat, bringing the software up to version 7.1.2. You’ve got bug fixes, some improvements on the fingerprint scanner, and a new battery alert issue.

The Pixel and Pixel XL are getting the smaller of the two changelogs.

  • Improved fingerprint swipe performance
  • Bluetooth connectivity improvements
  • Battery usage alerts

The battery alert feature is pretty cool, and will help you track down rogue apps that are chewing through battery. The Bluetooth bug looks like it’s been squashed (again) too.

This update brings the fingerprint swipe gestures to the Nexus 5X and 6P, which was originally exclusive to the Pixel. Otherwise, everything looks the same.

  • Improved fingerprint swipe performance
  • Fingerprint swipe on 5X/6P
  • Bluetooth connectivity improvements
  • Battery usage alerts

These updates are rolling out to all available devices now, so keep checking for that notification.
