Meerkat took the world by storm recently, but it was only available on iOS. Today that is changing as they are inviting Android users to sign up for a public beta.

This isn't a “normal” Google Play beta in which you simply become a tester and join a particular community, giving you the rights to download the beta from Google Play.

For now, they are only offering a simple sign up page, which is powered by Google Docs. They didn't divulge if there will be a limit to the amount of people they will accept, so if you're at all interested, I would click the link below right now. It's likely that when they start accepting testers, it will operate much like a “normal” Google Play beta app.

Meerkat really needs to get their Android version up soon since Periscope, a new competing product, is gaining a lot of steam. Periscope isn't available on Android yet, so Meerkat will now have a slight advantage with so many more users. However, I am sure Periscope isn't far behind.
