We had a glimpse of something very unique from LG last month, and they are now official. If you're looking to make a deeper connection with your smartphone, then LG's AKA (pronounced “AW-kuh”) is the phone for you.
There are actually four AKA's to choose from…..Eggy, Wooky, YoYo, and Soul. Eggy is yellow and falls in love easily. Wooky is white and always speaks in slang. Soul is blue and loves beer and music. YoYo is pink and the only female in the group. She loves hamburgers and coca cola.
Each phone sports digital eyes that change expressions as you wave your hand over the front-facing camera. It's almost like the digital Tamagotchi toys from the 90s, but you won't be feeding these little guys. These characters will create a connection with you, which I am sure you're lacking with your current smartphone :-)
The specs are mid-range and include a 5-inch 720 (1280 x 720) display, a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, 1.5 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, microSD slot for an additional 128 GB of extra storage, 8 MP rear camera, 2610 mAh battery, and a version of Android that we presume is KitKat.
Now to the bad news. These little guys will probably never be available outside of Korea. They will be going for ₩500,000, which equates to about $456.

What will they think of next?
