Motorola has just launched a new webpage that notifies owners of the Moto X, Moto G, Moto E, Droid Maxx, Droid Mini and Droid Ultra of the status of their much-anticipated Android 5.0 Lollipop upgrade.

Currently, the tracker states that all the above-mentioned smartphones have been “confirmed” to receive the Lollipop update, but none of them have entered the development stage as of yet.

It’s a shame that Motorola posted details of the Lollipop update so early as there has been an expectation among users that they would be getting it soon. As it is Motorola do not have a clear public timetable for when each phone will get the update.Perhaps in future they will draw up a rough timetable before they make any announcements and only do so when the update can be delivered within a short period. In that way they can deliver the update at their own pace and not keep users hanging on for an update that will arrive “really soon” when in reality it won’t. I love my Moto g 4G LTE – it’s a great phone – but I’m sure I’ll love it more with lollipop installed, hopefully soon.
