After many, many leaks, HTC has finally taken the wraps off of their latest smartphone,. As expected, the major selling features of the brand new HTC Desire Eye are taking great photos and videos, and there's quite a bit of emphasis on selfies, as expected.
The Desire Eye doesn't feature the same sleek aluminum design as the HTC One, but instead opts for a plastic unibody frame. The design still looks slick and a little more “premium” than some other devices, but for those of you that loved the aluminum of the One, you might be a little disappointed here. Fortunately, this new design also includes waterproofing, which is a big plus.
The specs are pretty much what all of the early rumors anticipated, including a 13 megapixel camera on the front and rear of the device. HTC doesn't want you to have to choose which lens to use to capture the most detail, so they put fantastic cameras on both sides of the device. The camera features that were announced are front and center on the device, and HTC is including all of their new photo tools on the Eye, plus you'll see all of the new Zoe features on board. The screen is a full HD 5.2-inch display, and you'll get HTC's BoomSound, too.
HTC hasn't given any information on pricing and availability just yet, but we'll keep you updated.
