Poweramp is celebrating build 555 by giving away 5 premier smartphones during a 5 day contest with their 5 favorite Android blogs. The phones up for grabs include the Samsung Galaxy S 5, HTC One (M8), LG G2, Nexus 5, and Samsung Galaxy Note 3. An amazing group indeed.
Here'a how it works. All you have to do is comment at the bottom of this post telling us what your first Android phone was (or is)? You will have until Friday, May 2, at 11:59PM PST to get your entry in. Once the contest is over, we will select one random winner and submit it to Poweramp. The other four sites will do the same, and Poweramp, in association with Negri Electronics, will hold a random drawing for each phone. We will let our winner know which phone they have won next Monday, May 5, which is when Poweramp version 555 will be released. Be sure that your account has a working email address because that is how we are going to contact you.
We have even more good news. This contest is open to just about everyone around the world. The devices are going to come from Negri Electronics, which means they will be unlocked and can be used anywhere. You just want to make sure you are in one of the countries that Negri Electronics ships to (see below).

I have been an iPhone user since they first have come out, and am writing this on my first Android product, a rooted Nexus 7. I will not be buying Apple again, and am either looking at an HTC m8 or waiting for the LG-G3.
LG Optimus V. From there I got a Samsung Galaxy S2, then an Evo 3D (when 3D was all the rage) but the screen technology that Samsung used was unmatchable so I switched back to the S2. I now have the Note 3, been looking to get my hands on the S5 and/or the HTC One (M8), look amazing.

My first Android phone was/is the Galaxy Nexus. At the time, I was choosing between a Motorola (Droid? — I’m not sure what it was called anymore) Razr and the Nexus. The Razr had its ace as water-resistant, but the Nexus, of course, was easily customizable software-wise. I eventually made my decision based on the fact that I have never, ever in my life broken any sort of technological hardware by dropping or spilling liquids over it. Hence, I wouldn’t exactly be needing the water-resistance.

However I tried to go with my luck and I was not at all disappointed. A beautiful touchscreen phone with a beautiful Android interface. Even though there was no 3G service in India at that time the 2G service was working great on this phone. I think it was Android v1.6 Donut at that time. I miss those days. God bless…..

They were our 1st smartphones, recommended to us by a store associate with an unlocked iPhone after we gave him a wish list of things we’d like to do on our phones. They were awful, buggy things!! LOL. We returned so many that we were offered Samsung Skyrockets in exchange (something they don’t do anymore). We’ve been Android fans ever since. :-)

I have the Note 3 from Verizon. I love this phone or small tablet. It does everything I need it to do quickly and best ever, no delays. I can’t wait for the Galaxy Note 4 to come out because I will be buying that phablet “four” sure. Best phone for all its technical upgrades. 64 bit technology, K4 screen, 4G of RAM, larger screen 5.9″. Ppi is over 800. WOW.

Droid 1 back in 2010. Got me hooked on android, up to almost a dozen devices now… I might have a problem.
My first Android phone was a sidekick 4g. It was still running running strong after 2 years when I upgraded from it.
I wasn’t lucky enough to grab the G1 as I was still rocking my OG BB8800, but the moment I dropped that $750 bucks on the Nexus One, there was no turning back
My first was a HTC Wildfire, pretty cool at the time.
I still fire up my OG Droid to fiddle around with it every now and again. It really needs RAM in a big, bad way!

Back in summer 2012, I sold my 1st gen iPad for a used Korean Nexus S. It took my a while to realize that it was a Korean model and that was the reason T-Mobile’s 3G was incredibly spotty, but it didn’t turn me away from Android and I upgraded to a N4 last summer. A new Android phone would be nice as I’d just give my Nexus 4 to my dad (who is currently using the Nexus S…yep, he kind of needs an upgrade too).

HTC Thunderbolt, right as Verizon’s LTE network was just beginning. First month, in an apartment style dorm with horrible wifi i dropped 32GB of data because I was pulling down 25mbps. So fun.
First smartphone was the Motorola Droid. Huge disappointment, after the third replacement phone from Verizon I finally gave up on the Droid and got the Droid Razr instead. This was a way better phone didn’t have the issues with phone calls like the Droid did.
It was a Galaxy S3 which is now on its last legs.
