Sony Xperia Z2 to sport 5.3-inch display and 23MP camera?

Recently we reported that the upcoming Sony Xperia  Z2 will be unveiled at next month’s Mobile World Congress, along with a few specs. Today the back cover has been leaked along with slightly contrary specs.

First the cover. If you’re not a fan of glass backs, you will be happy to know that the Z1 won’t sport one. Of course, this pic could be from an early prototype, but assuming it’s close to the final design, it appears to be matte metallic or carbon fiber. It was also divulged that there will be 5 color options.

Now onto the specs. This report has the Z2 with a 5.3-inch display and a 23MP rear camera. It’s not too far off from the original report, but different nonetheless. The earlier report suggests a 5.2-inch display and a 20.7MP rear camera. No other specs were indicated with this leak, so we are still expecting a 2560 x 1440 display, 3GB of RAM, and a 3,700 mAh battery.

Anything bigger than 5 inches for a phone is too big now. I love the note phones capabilities…Keep the bezels down then we can talk but eh. I miss the 4.7 inch range. Easier to hold and use but we’re just in love with gorgeous big screens…because well, we don’t use or phones just for calling anymore, multimedia device. Regardless excited to see this years phones

Especially once you put a case on it (which nearly everyone does).

I love my Z1 but I think 5″ is as big as it should get (unless the physical dimensions of the handset don’t change)

    23mp camera.
That’s great, but what size is the sensor?
If it’s the same 1/3.2″ sensor that’s in most cameraphone modules, then the added resolution is simply going to be a waste.

    1/4.5 sensor
