Remember the Nexus 7 debacle from September? In a nutshell, Verizon refused to activate the 2013 Nexus 7 claiming it wasn't “certified” yet. The only problem was that it's compatible with the carrier and works with any other SIM card that was previously activated. The issue was that Verizon refused to activate new SIM cards. At that time, Verizon did say they were working on “certifying” it. This usually takes about 4 to 6 weeks, which just so happens to be right about now.

One of our favorite leakers, @evleaks, just tweeted, “Nexus 7 headed to Verizon.” Unfortunately no word on when, but we can only assume this tweet means it's really close since the certification process should be just about completed. We will keep you posted as soon as we hear more.
