Ford has announced that its Bronco Trail app is now available on the Play Store (and iOS) for Bronco SUV owners, offering 1,200 miles worth of professionally curated off-road trail maps across the US, Canada, and Mexico. It will even let you adjust your tire pressure for on-road and off-road driving. We've got more details for you after the break.
Compatible with devices running Android 8 (Oreo) and higher, the Bronco Trail app offers the following features:
Planning
- Search curated trails in U.S., Canada, and Mexico from FunTreks.
- Filter by location, difficulty rating, length, description, and reviews.
- Maps include satellite imagery, 2D topography, and points of interest. Even add your own points of interest.
- View and download content-rich maps and trail details for view in your in-vehicle touchscreen – so your off-roading maps are always available, even if your cellular coverage isn’t.
Navigating
- Trail content, satellite imagery, and hi-res topo maps are projected via CarPlay into the 8” or 12” display of your Bronco.
- Use the built-in mount on your Bronco’s dashboard to attach your smartphone and record video as you go –vehicle telemetry is overlaid automatically during playback and includes speed, RPM, distance, elevation, and more data.
- Mobile tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) – monitors real-time tire pressure data directly on your phone. Set targeted tire pressure and see updates in one-second increments – easing the process of changing tire pressure before/after an off-road drive.
Sharing
- Enhance the post-drive experience – Post your drive summary to social media directly from the app.
- Access and edit recorded drives with a variety of tools to personalize the drive – add detailed descriptions, waypoints, photos, and tags. Then save that detail for review the next time you take your Bronco out to the same area.
