Spirited and free, nothing can stop Guinaifen from doing what she loves most: performing in front of a large audience, shooting her to fame.
Underneath all her innocence and amazing stunts, though, she's decked out with an explosive Fire-based kit, meaning she has some promising builds to be run in Honkai: Star Rail.
Guinaifen Best Build

In Honkai: Star Rail, Guinaifen plies her trade in the Xianzhou Luofu, alongside other popular characters, like Jing Yuan.
Always eager to showcase her talents, Guinaifen's bright disposition trickles into her combat style; exploding firecrackers, Burn afflictions, and her exclusive Firekiss proc.
Primarily specced to maximize her Area-of-Effect (AoE) potential, this is how we see her being built the best:
| Character | Best Cavern Relics Set | Best Planar Ornaments Set | Best Light Cone |
![]() Guinaifen | ![]() (4-piece) Firesmith of Lava-Forging | ![]() Pan-Cosmic Commercial Enterprise | ![]() In the Name of the World |
With this build, Guinaifen will inflict her Burn damage almost all the time, supplemented by even more Attack and Fire Damage!
Guinaifen Alternate Light Cones

Despite being a 4-star character, Guinaifen is unbelievably versatile and can fit into many team setups. So, if you're not into optimizing her Effect Hit Rate (EHR) or Fire Damage, these alternative light cones can also be slotted into her build:
| Light Cone | Effect(s) |
![]() Solitary Healing | Break Effect increases by 20% – 40% After using Ultimate, the Damage-over-Time (DoT) inflicted increases by 24% – 48% (2 turns) If an enemy suffering from the user's DoT is defeated, regenerates 4 – 6 Energy |
![]() Good Night and Sleep Well | Damage increases by 12% – 24% for each debuff inflicted on the enemy, including DoT (stacks up to 3 times) |
![]() Eyes of the Prey | EHR increases by 20% – 40% DoT increases by 24% – 48% |
These light cones are effective according to different Guinaifen builds or team compositions. For instance, Solitary Healing provides a massive Break Effect boost to help a Weakness-Break party destroy Bosses' Toughness meters.
Additionally, other light cones, such as Reforged Remembrance and Incessant Rain, are also viable depending on what your ideal Guinaifen role is!
Guinaifen Alternate Relics

Knowing Guinaifen's specialty in Burn DoT, a few Cavern Relics and Planar Ornaments come into mind to bolster her capabilities during a fight.
If the 4-piece Lava-Forging or Pan Commercial set isn't for you, these other Relics can also be considered in their place:
Speed Build
| Cavern Relics Set | Effect(s) |
![]() (2-piece) Firesmith of Lava-Forging | (2-piece) Increases Fire Damage by 10% |
![]() (2-piece) Messenger Traversing Hackerspace | (2-piece) Increase Speed by 6% |
This Relic combo slightly improves Guinaifen's cycle in the turn order, aiding her to move earlier to apply those Burn effects onto enemies. Just remember to add more Speed from her substats.
| Planar Ornaments Set | Effect(s) |
![]() Space Sealing Station | Attack increased by 12% If Speed is at or higher than 120, Attack is increased by another 12% (maximum of 24%) |
Guinaifen already has a respectable base Speed (106), so bumping it up to at least 120 is fairly easy to get those juicy Attack buffs!
Critical-Debuff Build
| Relic Set | Effect(s) |
(4-piece) Pioneer Diver of Dead Waters | (2-piece) Damage dealt to debuffed enemies increased by 12% (4-piece) Critical Rate increased by 4% (4-piece) Critical Damage is increased by 8%/ 12% to enemies with 2/ 3 debuffs (4-piece) Upon inflicting a debuff, the Critical Rate and Critical Damage bonuses are increased by 100% (1 turn) |
Focusing on Guinaifen's EHR and Critical Rate, this complete set lets her demolish foes regardless of her roles on the team, be it as a support or main DoT dealer.
| Planar Ornaments Set | Effect(s) |
![]() Pan-Cosmic Commercial Enterprise | EHR increased by 10% Attack increases by 25% of total EHR (maximum of 25% Attack increase) |
When pairing the Dead Waters set with Planar Ornaments, the Pan-Cosmic one is the best among the rest.
Group DoT Build
| Relic Set | Effect(s) |
![]() (4-piece) Prisoner in Deep Confinement | (2-piece) Attack increased by 12% (4-piece) Ignores 6% of an enemy's Defense for each DoT inflicted (stacks up to 3 times for 3 different DoT effects) |
As mentioned earlier, Guinaifen is extremely versatile, meaning she can jive with other DoT specialists too! With this 4-piece set, you'll get extraordinary single-target damage if she's geared correctly.
| Planar Ornaments Set | Effect(s) |
![]() Pan-Cosmic Commercial Enterprise | EHR increased by 10% Attack increases by 25% of total EHR (maximum of 25% Attack increase) |
The Pan-Cosmic set shines the most for this strategy as well, guaranteeing increased cumulative team damage nearly every turn.
Guinaifen Best Team

With Guinaifen's flaming toys and blazing skills in tow, you can easily put her into multiple teams as long as her party members can benefit from her Burn and Firekiss effects.
To put this into perspective, here are a few of the best teams for Guinaifen to exhibit her worth:
Burst DoT Team
![]() Kafka | ![]() Sampo | ![]() Luocha |
Just by looking at this team, you can immediately see the impressive damage-per-second (DPS) potential. Both Kafka and Sampo dish out tremendous amounts of damage, and their different DoT synergy with Guinaifen makes the whole team even scarier.
The 5-star Luocha is undeniably one of the strongest healers in the game, so he's more than capable of sustaining everyone during fights.
Hellfire Team
![]() Hook | ![]() Asta | ![]() Huohuo |
Guinaifen and Hook have nearly identical kits, so their combined Fire Damage output and Burn DoT ticks can instantly annihilate enemies weak to Fire. This isn't adding Asta's buffs and support yet!
Since there's no Fire-element healer in Honkai: Star Rail yet, Huohuo comes in to provide multiple heals and on-the-spot Energy regen for continuous Skill/ Ultimate spam.
Weakness Breaker Team
![]() Himeko | ![]() Sushang | ![]() Bailu |
To exploit enemies' Weakness Breaks, Himeko and Sushang are formidable allies to have by your side. Here, Guinaifen plays the support, using her Burns and Firekiss to soften targets simultaneously.
Bailu gives her all by keeping the whole party alive via her potent heals.
Overview

Guinaifen's a very intriguing character; she doesn't seem to be all-powerful yet her abilities can empower various setups to demolish foes quickly (even for herself).
While she might not be as frightening as Black Swan, she can sometimes be more useful, as evident by her kit here:
Skills
| Skill | Effect(s) |
Basic Attack Standing Ovation | Deals 50% – 110% Attack as Fire Damage Toughness Damage: 30 Energy Generated: 20 |
Skill Blazing Welcome | Deals 60% – 132% Attack as Fire Damage to target enemy, while adjacent enemies get hit by 20% – 44% Attack as Fire Damage 100% base chance to Burn all affected enemies Burn: – Enemies suffer 83.904% – 240.0324% Attack as Fire DoT at the beginning of the next 2 turns Toughness Damage: 60 (primary target), 30 (adjacent enemies) Energy Generated: 30 |

Her Fire Damage, Burn DoT, and Firekiss effect open up huge opportunities to be empowered by Relics and Light Cones, besides complementing different allies' skills too.
Traces
| Trace | Effect(s) |
High Poles | Basic Attack has an 80% chance to inflict Burn to enemies Burn DoT is similar to Skill's Burn DoT |
Bladed Hoop | Entering battle, Guinaifen is Advanced Forwarded by 25% |
Walking on Knives | Deals 20% more damage to Burned enemies |
Compared to others, Guinaifen is among the few whose Traces are nifty regardless of which build you're into.
While these three directly impact her attacks most, her other ‘minor' Traces actually enhance her roles during battle, each being improvements to Fire Damage, EHR, and Break Effect values.
Eidolons
| Eidolon | Effect(s) |
Level 1 Slurping Noodles During Handstand | 100% base chance to reduce target enemy's Effect Resistance (2 turns) after using Skill |
Level 2 Brushing Teeth While Whistling | While an enemy is Burning, Burn DoT applied by Basic Attack and Skill increases by 40% |
Level 3 Smashing Shoulder on Chest | +2 Skill Level (maximum +15 Skill) +1 Basic Attack Level (maximum +10 Basic Attack) |
Level 4 Blocking Pike With Neck | When each Guineifan's Burn DoT on enemies is triggered, she regenerates 2 Energy |
Level 5 Swallowing Sword to Stomach | +2 Ultimate Level (maximum +15 Ultimate) +2 Talent Level (maximum +15 Talent) |
Level 6 Catching Bullet with Hands | Increases Firekiss‘s stack by 1 (maximum of 3 stacks now) |
As a 4-star character, getting Guinaifen's dupes is much more realistic, so you might find yourself with a few of her Eidolons unlocked already. Still, it's best to focus on her Relics and Light Cones before pulling for more of her via Warps instead.
