TCL's Prime Day deals are already live on Amazon, and they get better next week. The Note A1 NXTPAPER paper tablet is $499.98 now through October 4, then drops to $449.99 for Prime Big Deal Days on October 6 and 7, $150 off its $599.99 list price. The sale covers most of the NXTPAPER range, from the 14-inch tablet to the NXTPAPER 70 Pro phone.
If you missed TCL's June Prime Day deals, this round is bigger. It now includes phones and earbuds as well as tablets.
Why NXTPAPER is worth a look
NXTPAPER is TCL's matte, paper-like display. It's designed to cut glare and blue light while keeping color, which makes a difference if you read for hours or work outside. Most of these devices also have a dedicated NXTPAPER key that switches the screen between a normal color mode, a softer color paper mode, and a black-and-white ink paper mode.
According to TCL, every NXTPAPER tablet in the sale comes with a free stylus and flip case. That's useful, because a paper-like screen is only half the appeal without a pen to write on it.
NXTPAPER tablets
The Note A1 is the one to get if you take notes by hand. It's TCL's dedicated writing tablet, with an 11.5-inch 2.2K 120Hz screen in a 3:2 ratio and the T-Pen Pro stylus. TCL says it turns handwritten notes and recordings into editable text, and an eight-microphone array picks up meetings and lectures.

The NXTPAPER 11 Plus has the biggest percentage cut, at 38%. It's the family pick, with TCL's newer NXTPAPER 4.0 display, an 8,000mAh battery and 33W charging. The NXTPAPER 14 is the big-screen option, with a 10,000mAh battery, though it runs an older Helio G99 chip and Android 14.
Regular Tab A1 tablets
The Tab A1 Plus and Tab A1 are also in the sale, but they use TCL's standard NXTVISION LCD, not a NXTPAPER screen. They're for streaming rather than reading.
- TCL Tab A1 Plus (12.2-inch 2.4K 120Hz): $179.99 on October 6 and 7, or $189.99 through October 4 (was $279.99) Amazon

We covered the Tab A1 Plus at $219.99 in July, and it's $40 cheaper this time.

The 70 Pro is the phone to buy here. It has a 6.9-inch 120Hz NXTPAPER 4.0 display, a 50MP main camera with an 8MP ultra-wide, 33W charging, and Android 16 out of the box. The 60 XE is the budget alternative, with a 6.8-inch 120Hz screen, a Dimensity 6300 chip with 5G, and a 5,010mAh battery, for under $170.
CrystalClip earbuds
- TCL CrystalClip: $49.99 on October 6 and 7, or $69.99 through October 4 (was $79.99) Amazon
- TCL CrystalClip Swarovski Edition: $88.99 on October 6 and 7, or $129.99 through October 4 (was $149.99) Amazon
The CrystalClip are open-ear clip-on earbuds weighing 5.5g each. TCL rates them at eight hours of playback, or 36 with the case, and they can connect to two devices at once. The Swarovski Edition has a detachable crystal accent that, according to TCL, can be worn on its own as a hair piece, ring or pendant.
The verdict
If you write by hand, the Note A1 at $449.99 is the pick. Families should look at the NXTPAPER 11 Plus at $227.99, and the NXTPAPER 70 Pro at $259.99 suits anyone who reads on their phone a lot.
Every price drops further on October 6 and 7, but those deals need a Prime membership, while the early prices running now through October 4 don't. Either way, we can't wait to see how the NXTPAPER 4.0 screens hold up to a full day's reading.
