Walking up to your front door and having it unlock before you've touched your phone is the pitch behind the new Bolt Mission, a $299.99 smart lock from Ultraloq that uses ultra-wideband to work out when you're actually arriving home. It's part of a three-lock collection that also brings tap-to-unlock digital keys through Samsung Wallet and Apple Wallet.
What's new
The lineup includes the Bolt Mission, the Bolt Pro, and the Latch 5 Pro. Bolt Mission handles hands-free entry using UWB, while Bolt Pro and Latch 5 Pro focus on tap-to-unlock access built on the Aliro standard.
All three locks are Matter certified, so they'll work with Apple Home, Google Home, and other Matter platforms. Bolt Pro and Latch 5 Pro also integrate with Samsung SmartThings.
Why it matters
Aliro is the open access standard from the Connectivity Standards Alliance, backed by Apple, Google, and Samsung. In practice, it means your front door key can live in your phone's wallet, right next to your payment cards and, increasingly, your car key.
For Galaxy owners, the SmartThings tie-in is the interesting part. Each household member can have their own digital key in Samsung Wallet, and unlocking the door can trigger automations like switching on the lights or adjusting the thermostat.
Bolt Mission
Plenty of smart locks already offer auto-unlock, but most rely on your phone simply being nearby. That's how you end up with a front door that unlocks because you walked past it in the hallway.
Bolt Mission combines Bluetooth Low Energy, UWB ranging, and built-in radar to track both the distance and direction of your approach. Ultraloq says this lets it tell the difference between you arriving from outside and normal movement inside the house.
There's no app to open, no PIN to enter, and no hub required. The Xthings Home app runs in the background on your phone, and the unlock decision is processed locally between your phone and the lock, with the radar helping conserve battery when nobody is around.
Bolt Pro
At $269.99, Bolt Pro is the deadbolt option for wallet-based access. Tap a compatible phone or watch against the lock and it opens without needing to launch an app.
It also covers just about every other entry method. You get fingerprint, PIN codes, app control, and a physical key backup, with PINs handy for kids, guests, or cleaners who don't need a full digital key.
Latch 5 Pro
Latch 5 Pro costs $249.99 and brings the same tap-to-unlock experience to lever-style doors. Ultraloq pitches it at side entrances, home offices, garage-entry doors, rentals, and shared spaces.
Access options include digital wallet keys, fingerprint, and PINs for temporary visitors. It shares the same Aliro and Matter support as Bolt Pro.
Pricing and availability
The collection is available now from Ultraloq and Amazon, with Home Depot adding it online in October. Pricing breaks down like this:

Takeaway
On paper, Bolt Mission's mix of UWB and radar tackles the biggest annoyance with auto-unlock, and it'll be worth seeing how reliably it reads intent at a real front door. Unfortunately, Ultraloq hasn't shared which phones support the UWB feature, and Google Wallet isn't mentioned alongside Samsung and Apple for the Aliro keys. We're keen to find out how both play out for Android users, but Samsung owners look well covered from day one.
