Among Samsung’s biggest flexes this year was the Galaxy S25 Edge. The phone was supposed to prove that the brand could make thin look powerful and shed their long-standing reputation for bulky flagships. But 2025 third quarter reports reveal that sales forecasts put the S25 Edge in a low range, far below the S25 Plus.
It's majorly why they're choosing not to scrap the Plus model from the S series afterall. All of this drama gave Motorola a perfect opening. The brand, who's notoriously known for delayed updates, is preparing to launch the Edge 70 on November 5.
Not as thin as Samsung's Edge, but cool enough
The Motorola Edge 70 briefly appeared on a Polish retailer’s website, which likely revealed its full specifications and product images ahead of its official release date. GSMArena first spotted it, and it's since been removed.

The phone is slightly bulkier than Samsung’s S25 Edge. It measures 160 x 75 x 6 millimeters, while the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge measures 158.2 x 75.6 x 5.8 millimeters. Motorola’s phone is slightly taller and thicker, while Samsung’s is a bit wider and flatter.
The display is a 6.67-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 1220 × 2712 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. It comes with a 4,800 mAh battery with support for 68W wired charging and wireless charging that reaches up to 15W. It'll use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, followed by 12GB RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage.

It'll run Android 16 out of the box with Motorola UI overlaid, and carry 50-megapixel rear cameras with optical image stabilization (OIS). Impressively, the front camera is also 50MP. As far as we know for connectivity, the phone uses two SIMs: One nano-SIM card and one eSIM.
Edge 70 or Edge X70 Air is coming next month
We should see all these features launch in China first before Edge 70 rolls out globally under a different name. Perhaps, it'll be Edge X70 Air or Edge 2026, depending on market convention.
Motorola has previously teased the Edge 70 in an image on their Weibo account. The promotional image featured a side view of the smartphone in mint/sage green color, showing its slim profile with visible buttons and camera modules.

There are orange accents around the cameras and Moto AI button. Other rumoured colors include Gadget Gray, a darker gray finish with contrasting accent ring, and another Dark Green with Lime Green accents.
Ahead of launch, Motorola has arranged interesting offers for you on the official website. You can register to receive weekly previews of the phone and its features. If you participate in the interactive unlock campaign, you'll also gain access to an exclusive pre-launch offer worth over £700 (≈ $935).
It's redeemable during the official reveal at 3 PM CET and valid until November 19. There's no word on pricing yet. But the Edge 60 costs £380 (≈ $508). The Edge 70 would likely launch in the £500–£600 (≈ $668-$802) range.
