After all the usual leaks and rumors, the Pixel 9 series is finally official, with Google overwhelming us with four handsets. While the base Pixel 9 and the foldable 9 Pro Fold are interesting in their own right, you might be wondering about the other two models, the Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL. Why has Google seen fit to squeeze another model in the series, which may cannibalize sales from the other incumbents?

Join us after the break as we compare the Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL and help you make an informed choice between the two handsets.

There's really very little to choose from between the two phones other than the Pixel 9 Pro XL, which is half an inch larger than the regular 9 Pro, has 360mAh extra battery capacity, and costs $100 more. They have the same cameras, Tensor G4 chip, memory and storage configurations, and software features. Both run Android 14 out of the box.

It all depends on which phone you think will be more comfortable in your hand (and trouser pocket). The $100 price bump is somewhat negligible.

If the Pixel 9 and 9 Pro Fold aren't to your tastes, are you ordering the Pixel 9 Pro or Pixel 9 Pro XL? If so, let us know which one you've chosen in the comments below, and don't forget to throw some money at Dbrand to protect your shiny new phone.
