Squad Busters‘s character roster is steadily growing, with a couple more units expected to join the fray soon. With so many choices to consider, it's easy to misjudge your squad's synergies and effectiveness if you don't know who's the best among the rest.

That's why we've prepared a handy tier list for you to refer to. Our selection accounts for each character's overall value to a party, combining multiple aspects including combat proficiency, resource gathering, and even heals.

Squad Busters Tier List

Combining characters from other Supercell games, such as Clash Royale and Clash of Clans, there are thirty (30) total units to be compared against each other here (as of the time of writing).

Noting how fast-paced yet randomized Squad Busters‘s gameplay is, this tier list gives you the best idea of which characters to prioritize every time you unlock Battle Chests, giving you those precious seconds to collect Gems or gather more Coins quickly!

Character Tiers Overview

You might wonder why some characters were grouped into their respective tiers. Well, here's our reasonings:

S-Tier

These characters are just too good to be left out of a squad due to their immense importance in combat or helping the entire team survive longer to achieve a cumulative win.

CharacterOverview
Ultra Archer Queen from Squad Busters.
Epic
Archer Queen
The Archer Queen passively buffs the attack speed of all ranged units, which is indispensable for various instances!
Ultra Barbarian King from Squad Busters.
Epic
Barbarian King
The Barbarian King is the Archer Queen's counterpart; he passively increases the attack speed of all melee characters in the party!
Ultra Battle Healer from Squad Busters.
Epic
Battle Healer
The Battle Healer is the best HP-support character in Squad Busters because of two (2) things:

– massive HP increase to all units
– big heals to the entire squad after opening Battle Chests
Ultra Dr. T from Squad Busters.
Epic
Dr. T
Dr. T's Mega Crab summon is a strong additional unit to any squad, especially when both have such high HPs to tank enemy hits!
Ultra Jessie from Squad Busters.
Rare
Jessie
Jessie's turrets are pesky to deal with, but extremely nifty if you're the one deploying them!
Ultra Mortis from Squad Busters.
Epic
Mortis
Any Necromancer-like unit is welcomed in a game, and Mortis plays that role by reviving defeated foes and summoning bats to help the entire squad in combat.
Ultra Royale King from Squad Busters.
Epic
Royale King
The Royale King calls forth up to three (3) Royal Recruits to assist in battle, which can be increased further if duplicates of him are in the party.

This isn't including his Elite Royal Recruits who can also be summoned!
Ultra Witch from Squad Busters.
Epic
Witch
The Witch is probably the most overpowered Attacker in Squad Busters; she continuously summons up to five (5) Skeletons every seven (7) seconds depending on her Evolution, guaranteeing steady reinforcements!

A-Tier

These characters are predominantly strong in fights or offer alternative benefits to overcome enemies, but they can always be replaced if need be.

CharacterOverview
Ultra Barbarian from Squad Busters.
Common
Barbarian
Pam excels at two (2) distinct things; she deals amazing ranged damage to targets and can plant a Heal Station to restore everyone's HP.
Ultra Heavy from Squad Busters.
Common
Heavy
The Heavy is a dangerous unit that is both tough to defeat and deals enormous damage from range.
Ultra Hog Rider from Squad Busters.
Rare
Hog Rider
The Hog Rider is a superb unit that automatically gives the entire squad a Turbo boost every time you pass through tall grass.
Ultra Ice Wizard from Squad Busters.
Rare
Ice Wizard
The Ice Wizard isn't particularly dangerous by himself, but his Super Freeze Spell is a rare skill that is phenomenal for emergencies or battles, slowing enemies affected.
Ultra Nita from Squad Busters.
Rare
Nita
Nita summons a tough Bear to aid the party during fights.

While it's not as durable as other summonable units, the Bear can become enraged after defeating a foe, and Nita can easily resummon it if it's defeated albeit after a short cooldown.
Ultra Pam from Squad Busters.
Rare
Pam
Pam excels at two (2) distinct things; she deals amazing ranged damage to targets, and can plant a Heal Station to restore everyone's HP.
Ultra Penny from Squad Busters.
Rare
Penny
Penny's treasure-hunting skills help you collect Coins and Gems outside the usual means.

Not only that, she can sometimes find extra keys and heals too, besides her outrageous ranged attack.
Ultra Shelly from Squad Busters.
Common
Shelly
Shelly's Super Shells are effective at dealing AoE damage, which is great against opposing player teams in Squad Busters.
Ultra Trader from Squad Busters.
Common
Trader
While the Trader isn't built for fighting, he gives you extra Gems for every predetermined amount of Coins you collect, passively increasing your Gem count to rank higher and simultaneously limiting engagements with other players.
Ultra Wizard from Squad Busters.
Rare
Wizard
The Wizard is also another character that isn't spectacular in battle by himself, but gives you random Spells for free while letting you hold up to two (2) of them at once!

B-Tier

Characters under this tier are still dependable for certain instances but have restrictive mechanics tied to their gameplay.

CharacterOverview
Ultra Bea from Squad Busters.
Rare
Bea
Bea does a ton of damage but needs to consistently collect Bee Hives to improve her battle effectiveness, which can be pretty scary when maximized.
Ultra Bo from Squad Busters.
Common
Bo
Bo is a special Monster hunter, enjoying bonus damage against them.

However, he isn't as lethal when squaring off against other players' teams.
Ultra Chicken from Squad Busters.
Common
Chicken
The Chicken's main role is to provide 2-3 additional Turbo to your squad.

Apart from that, there isn't much reason to have it inside your party, especially when its Hatchlings are a bit slow to spawn.
Ultra Colt from Squad Busters.
Common
Colt
Colt can be a clutch unit when you're on the offensive thanks to his mighty Bullet Storm and ranged attacks.

Still, his Bullet Storm ability requires some charging, most notably by defeating four (4) enemies before becoming available (except in his Ultra form where it charges automatically instead).
Ultra Dynamike from Squad Busters.
Rare
Dynamike
Dynamike's supposed to be an AoE specialist, but his dynamite damage is somewhat lackluster unless you manage to get him to his Ultra form (which requires some grind).
Ultra El Primo from Squad Busters.
Common
El Primo
El Primo is a fantastic early-game tank, but his offensive talents isn't up to par.

This is supplemented by his Flying Elbow Drop, but you need to defeat five (5) foes first in order to have it primed.
Ultra Greg from Squad Busters.
Common
Greg
Greg is the ONLY tree chopper in Squad Busters, so his team role is a niche for gathering resources.

In combat, Greg isn't noteworthy at all, so having around 1-2 of him in the squad is usually sufficient.
Ultra Mavis from Squad Busters.
Common
Mavis
Similar to Greg, Mavis is a resource gatherer who has basic healing capabilities but is only restricted to Coin farming via carrot patches.
Ultra Max from Squad Busters.
Epic
Max
Max is probably the most controversial on this list; she's definitely an A-tier character in the hands of experienced players thanks to her Speed Boost.

That being said, for casual newcomers, it'll take some time to get used to playing Squad Busters at such a fast pace, so she's best reserved when you finally master the game.
Ultra Tank from Squad Busters.
Rare
Tank
Tank's offensive prowess shines when her tanks can consistently achieve Overdrive, which is when her Evolution is at Super.

Until then, her tanks' DPS is slightly underpowered for such a promising unit.

C-Tier

Baby Medic unlocked in Squad Busters.

These characters are usually forgotten about because other units do their jobs significantly better unless specifically favored.

CharacterOverview
Ultra Goblin from Squad Busters.
Common
Goblin
The Goblin has fine Damage and Health stats but his Coin gimmick is a one-time effect (excluding his Fusion's when at Super Evolution).
Ultra Medic from Squad Busters.
Rare
Medic
The Medic is only incredible during these two (2) stages: the early game and the end game.

This is because player engagements in the early game are rather few, letting his slow heals do their thing.

In the end game, you'd ideally have the Medic's abilities fleshed out at Ultra Evolution, which is when his healing kit is at its most powerful.

Between these two phases, other healers are just far more efficient at the role than the Medic.

Conclusion

There you have it; our combined Squad Busters character tier list!

Of course, this isn't set in stone, so you can have your own preferences that might contradict our selection here and there. Regardless, if you do find our list helpful, consider giving our Squad Busters beginner's guide a read too!
