The Honor Magic 6 Pro was one of many new smartphones showcased at MWC 2024, and personally, I think it is a hidden gem that might not get the attention it deserves because of its flagship specs and stylish design.
While I thought that was the best the Chinese manufacturer had to offer in 2024, they recently teased the existence of an Honor Magic 6 Ultimate smartphone, with little else but a well-concealed image of the device's back panel. However, the company has released an image of the back that hides less, and some specs have been leaked, too.
Everything We Know About The Honor Magic 6 Ultimate
We know quite a bit about the Honor Magic 6 Ultimate now—at least a whole lot more than we knew before. We can tell you a bit more about the design, some of the specs it will have, and when we expect to see it launch.
The Design
First off, the design. The Honor Magic 6 Ultimate will come in two colors: Sky Purple and Rock Black. It's not certain whether these will be the only colors, but either way, you'll get a vegan leather back, with “Ultimate Edition” written vertically.
The camera module is large and is shaped like a rounded rectangle (or maybe a rounded rhombus would be more accurate). We can see three camera lenses arranged in a triangle, with the one at the peak looking like a periscope lens. We can also see an LED flash in the module. There's a metallic trim around the module too. The frame is flat and made of metal (hopefully titanium).
The Specs
Thanks to the tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, we know some of the specifications we can expect from the Magic 6 Ultimate.
We can expect a quad-curved 1.5K LTPO OLED display with a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz. The screen will use a punch-hole cutout (pill-shaped) for a 50MP selfie camera and a ToF sensor for biometric facial recognition, which is very similar to the Magic 6 Pro.
The rear side switches things up with a 50MP camera that has an even larger variable aperture: f/2.0 to f/4.0. There will also be a 100MP periscope telephoto camera with digital zoom of 100x. The optical zoom isn't sure, though.
Finally, it is no surprise that we expect a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 to power the phone and 80W fast wired charging, just like the Magic 6 Pro. That's all we know, but we look forward to more leaks.
The Launch Date
The Honor Magic 6 Ultimate is launching on March 18th in China, further backing the notion that it will be a China-only release, at least for now. We also know that Honor will release it alongside the Magic 6 RSR Porsche Design and the MagicBook 16 Pro.
