The Pixel 8 Pro launched in October last year, continuing Google's strong streak of recent Pixel devices. It's only January, but hardly anything can be a well-kept secret in the smartphone world these days. We're already getting our first look at what the Pixel 9 Pro will look like when it launches towards the end of the year. Google looks to be making quite a few changes to the formula this time around.
5K Renders And 360° Video Of The Pixel 9 Pro Have Leaked

The Pixel 9 Pro might be about nine months away from launch, but nothing is ever too early in the leaking industry. Famous X tipster OnLeaks collaborated with MySmartPrice to release the first look at Google's Pixel 9 Pro, and it's clear that there are going to be quite a few changes to the design language.
One thing that's quite noticeable is that the camera module on the back will no longer be an edge-to-edge visor. Instead, it will turn into an extended horizontal oval that's almost edge-to-edge. It's a different look, but it maintains enough of the visor's personality to still be identifiable as a Pixel.
Another change is that the phone is going to a flat frame. This seems to be the trend now, with the entire S24 lineup going for flat frames, and now the Pixel joins the club. The back panel is also entirely flat as well. The SIM card slot will be moving to the bottom of the phone, replacing one of the speaker grilles that was on the Pixel 8 Pro. Besides that, button and port placement seems to remain unchanged.
What Do We Know About The Potential Specifications?

This isn't one of those leaks where the entire spec sheet gets unveiled, but we still know a little about the hardware the Google Pixel 9 Pro will likely come with.
The display will likely get smaller — going from a 6.7-inch screen on its predecessor to a 6.5-inch display. It's not a huge difference, but it's an interesting decision. Beyond that, it'll still be a flat display with rounded corners and a punch-hole selfie camera. There is also the potential that Google will go for a variable aperture camera on one of the rear lenses.
The dimensions seem to be known, with the phone slated to measure 162.7 x 76.6 x 8.5 mm (12.0 mm including the camera hump). These dimensions are mostly unchanged from the Pixel 8 Pro, which is interesting considering the screen is said to be getting smaller. When dealing with leaks, it is important to take everything with a pinch (or a spoonful) of salt.
When Will The New Pixel Devices Launch?
The Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro, going by all the Pixel launches dating back to the first generation, will almost certainly be unveiled in October. Only the Pixel 5 came out in a different month, and that was the last day of September, so essentially, it was October, too!
The Google Pixel Fold was unveiled at Google I/O in May, so we might be very close to seeing Google's second take on the foldable segment when that time of year comes around.
