With its competitors launching clamshell smartphones with increasingly useful cover displays, Samsung is beginning to feel the pressure ahead of its Unpacked launch event on July 26 where its Galaxy Z Flip 5 will make its debut. Thanks to the likes of Motorola's rather excellent Razr+/40 Ultra and Oppo's Find N2 Flip, Samsung knows that its latest model in the Z Flip series needs to hit the mark. As part of its marketing onslaught, the brand has posted a video showing that the Galaxy Z Flip 5 doesn't have a gap when its closed.
Every new iteration of the Galaxy Z Flip series has improved the size of the gap that occurs when the phone is folded and the upcoming model, as shown in the video above) would appear to show that there is no gap this time around. This means that Samsung have improved the hinge system which will no doubt be emphasized upon during the Unpacked event on July 26.
We know it's probably not the first thing you look at when buying a clamshell smartphone but it is for some people. Let us know in the comments below if the presence of the gap stopped you from buying a clamshell smartphone.
