Following up on last year's Note 11 series, Xiaomi has today unveiled its new Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G and Note 12 Pro+ 5G handsets that feature high-refresh displays, main cameras with OIS, 5,000mAh batteries, and MediaTek's Dimensity 1080 chipset. Starting from €399 and €449 respectively, the Redmi Note 12 Pro and Note 12 Pro+ share the same basic design with similar color options and the same 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
The main differences between the Redmi Note 12 Pro and the Pro+ come in the camera and charging departments. While both phones feature the same 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP macro sensors, the Pro+ benefits from a 200MP main sensor with the regular Pro making do with a 50MP main camera. The Pro+ packs in a 4,980mAh battery while the Pro's battery is measured at 5,000mAh, with the former model supporting 120W HyperCharge which can fully charge the phone in just 19 minutes. The Note 12 Pro only supports 67W Turbo Charge but that should still get a full battery in under an hour.
While MicroSD card support isn't present, you will find a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, IR Blaster, as well as a 3.5mm audio jack. Both phones offer IP53 dust and splash resistance, and have a plastic frame and rear panel. It's a trade-off but at least you don't have to worry about smashing it.
The two models are going head-to-head with Samsung's Galaxy A54 which is powered by the Exynos 1380, for better or for worse. The Redmi Note 12 Pro series will go on sale in Europe and the UK from March 23 via Xiaomi's online store and from other retailers on March 24.

If you’re shooting 200mp videos your going to want more storage or your going to run out quickly. It also doesn’t leave much storage for music files. I would easily fill the entire memory with mp3s!
My current phone has a 1tb sdcard that has 500gb of music on it and that’s only a fraction of my music archives! Living in a rural area where streaming anything on my phone is practically impossible unless it’s connected to WiFi, I prefer to actually own my music and carry as much as I can wherever I go.
