After being the exclusive purview of the US, Amazon Luna is finally expanding to the UK, Canada, and Germany. It's available as of today, which means that those lamenting the loss of Google Stadia have another cloud gaming option to try out.
Starting today, you'll be able to access Amazon Luna via devices and play games in genres such as casual, retro, or AAA titles. Prime subscribers can also link their Ubisoft Connect account to Luna to play games they already own, which is a neat touch. Amazon Luna offers the following subscriptions (if you don't mind paying for the privilege):
- Luna+: Luna+ gives customers access to a collection of games from across genres — action, adventure, classics, and more. Our largest and most diverse collection of games, Luna+ features fan favorites including Beach Buggy Racing 2: Hot Wheels Edition, Spongebob: Battle for Bikini Bottom — Rehydrated, and Resident Evil 2. Luna+ subscribers can also connect their Ubisoft accounts and play select Ubisoft PC games they already own on Luna.
- Ubisoft+ Multi Access: Ubisoft’s subscription service includes access to fan-favorite AAA titles including Rainbow Six Extraction, Assassin’s Creed, Watch Dogs, and Far Cry franchises, and more.
- Jackbox Games: Only available on Luna, the Jackbox Games subscription includes popular hits like Quiplash, Trivia Murder Party, and Drawful.
Whilst Amazon would like you to purchase the official Luna gaming controller, you can also play using the Luna Phone Controller app on your phone which is available on both the Play Store and IOS app store. The app lets you use the device's touchscreen display as the controller – handy if you don't want to fork out money for the official controller.
Every month some games are added and others are removed from the Amazon Luna library, with titles such as Megaman 11, Sail Forth, and Get Packed: Couch Chaos coming to the Prime Gaming Channel this month.
