CES 2022 isn't quite in full swing yet but Acer is here with a new batch of affordable Chromebooks offering small, medium, and large displays. The Chromebook Spin 513 is the pick of the bunch with its premium 2-in-1 design, 3:2 aspect ratio, and MediaTek processor while the Chromebook 314 and 315 are powered by Intel chipsets and have FHD displays.
Chromebook Spin 513
Eminently portable with its 13.5-inch VertaView display that sports a 2.256 x 1,504 resolution and 3:2 aspect ratio, the aluminum Chromebook Spin 513 weighs in at just 1.29kg. Powered by MediaTek's Kompanio 1380 chipset which is accompanied by up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 32/64/128GB of storage, the Spin 513 also has up to 10 hours of battery life. There's a backlit keyboard, WiFi 6 connectivity, and DTS Audio. The Chromebook Spin 513 will go on sale during June with pricing starting from $600.
Chromebook 314/315
The Chromebook 314 features a 14-inch display while the 315 has a larger 15.6-inch panel, both of which offer FHD resolution. Thanks to the increased real estate from the larger display, the Chromebook 315 benefits from a dedicated number pad to the right of the keyboard. Both models are powered by the Intel Pentium Silver N6000, Celeron N4500, or N5100 processors, with up to 8GB of RAM and a choice of 64/128GB of storage.
Like the Spin 513, the Chromebook 314 and 315 offer up to 10 hours of usage, mil-spec durability, and WiFi 6 connectivity. Acer says that the OceanGlass touchpad on both models is made from plastic waste that has been recycled into a ‘glass-like texture'.
While the Chromebook 314 will go on sale in North America in June 2022 starting from $299, Acer says that the larger Chromebook 315 will be available this month and is also priced from $299.
