It'#s November which means that it's time to forget about the October Security Patch and start taking note of which Samsung handsets are receiving the November patch. The first phones to receive the patch are Samsung's most recent flagships, and since the brand is busy prepping its One UI 3.0 update, it's unlikely that the OTA will bring any new features. We'll update the post as and when the patch rolls out to other Samsung devices, and then move on to December's patch once the month is over.
Updated Nov. 4th: It's the turn of the affordable Galaxy Note 10 Lite to receive the November Security Patch with units in Europe being notified of the availability of the OTA. It may still be a few days until it reaches your handset, but it's always worth heading over to Software Update in the Settings app to check if you can manually prompt the download.
Updated Nov. 3rd: One of Samsung's most popular handsets the world over, the Galaxy A50 (reviewed here), has begun receiving the November Security Patch via OTA. And not to be outdone, the Galaxy S9 series is also getting the November patch in Europe, so those in the US should expect to be notified of an incoming OTA over the next week or so.
The November Security Patch includes the fixes found in Google's Android Security Bulletin for the month along with any Samsung-specific tweaks and improvements that its handsets might require. The update will roll out to eligible handsets over a number of days or even weeks, depending on whether it's an unlocked or carrier variant. So far, the November Security Patch is being deployed to the following Galaxy handsets:
Galaxy S9 Series
- Galaxy S9
- Galaxy S9+
Galaxy S10 Series
- Galaxy S10e
- Galaxy S10
