Verizon announced its own credit card earlier this year, and the time has come for it to finally launch. Come June 26th and you'll be able to ding your credit and run for your very own Red Check Mark credit card.
But why would you want one of these?
Verizon Credit Card
The Verizon credit card is issues in partnership with Synchrony Bank, who very commonly works with other retailers and brands to dish out charge cards. It's a Visa card, too, so it'll work just about everywhere. Put your shopping on this card and start racking up points and rewards.
You'll also be eligible for Verizon's $10 autopay discount if you use this Verizon credit card, too. Normally you'd have to link that autopay to your debit card or bank account to quality, so that's a perk, I suppose.
There's no cap on rewards and they never expire, no annual fee, and no foreign transaction fees, which round out any decent credit card. You'll get 4% back on gas and groceries, 3% on dining, 2% back on anything at Verizon, and 1% back on all of your other stuff.
But the rewards points do literally only work at Verizon. You can pay your bill or buy phones and accessories, but that's about it, making this pretty limited unless you plan on using the points to upgrade your phone every couple years or take a chunk off your phone bill each month. Those aren't bad options, necessarily, but I don't know that they're going to appeal to all that many people, either.
You can use a new exclusive Verizon app to manage the card, check your balance, and lock it if you've lost it. Additionally, Verizon is offering up to $1000 rewards for early adopters. You can sign up early at this link.
