Google was criticized around the launch of the Pixel 4 because they weren't allowing 4K 60fps video recording. The phone seems like it should capable of it considering it's a pretty advanced camera, but Google hasn't budged or enabled the feature.
But this is Android we're talking about, and there's always a way to get around things like that.
Pixel 4 4K 60fps
The FiLMiC Pro app just been updated on the Google Play Store, and the release notes mention that the Pixel 4 can now record in 4K 60FPS. So yes, a third-party app has managed to do what Google can't or won't on their own flagship phone. Crazy times.
This app is a bit nicer than your standard third-party camera application, as evidenced by its 14.99 price tag. But it's an incredibly powerful tool that can up your camera game based on what your phone's hardware is capable of, and in some situations (like this) it can actually go beyond what your manufacturer says the phone can do.
There's obviously some drawbacks to this, like the increase in storage space needed to record videos in 60fps. With the Pixel 4 only packing 64GB of storage on the base model and no support for any SD cards, you're going to want to be careful about how often you're actually shooting videos in the higher refresh rate. But still, we love having the option, even if it's not something you'll use all the time.

Why does Google hate expandable storage? I’m sure you would run out soon shooting 4k videos all the time!
Because they would rather everything was stored in the cloud, via their servers. Remember, we are Google’s product.
