LG today officially took the wraps off of its upcoming mid-range Velvet smartphone, unveiling key specs and launch details.
The company says the new smartphone will be running on the Snapdragon 765 platform, which comes equipped with a 5G modem. The phone will also be sporting a 6.8-inch Cinema FullVision display.
LG's Velvet handset has an impressive camera module, too — a 48-megapixel rear camera, an 8-megapixel ultra wide sensor, and then a 5-megapixel depth shooter. The bottom-most cutout is actually the flash.
There's a beefy 4,300mAh battery, and LG touts a low-power mode that helps extend the life of the charge.
Stereo speakers are on this bad boy, and there's a number of sweet software-based audio features, such as an ASMR mode for recording and a “Voice Out Focus” mode for removing background noise in video recordings.
LG says the phone will be available on all three major South Korean carriers on May 15, but offered no details on wider availability yet. LG is still planning on the online launch even for May 7, where we'll hear more details about the Velvet, such as pricing and (hopefully) wider availability.
