OPPO is the latest Chinese brand to follow in the footsteps of Huawei, Honor, and Xiaomi by announcing that it is preparing to launch its handsets in the UK. The smartphone manufacturer is unsurprisingly coy on when it will launch in the UK, merely saying “Stay tuned. We will let you know very soon.” when asked for a specific date. Launch event invites have, however, already been received by publications with a specific launch date penned in.

According to The Verge, OPPO has said it plans to hold a launch event in the UK on January 29th. The Chinese company made the announcement via its Facebook and Twitter accounts while a UK-centric website is being built.
If the OPPO name seems familiar to you, it may be because it's known for being the company behind OnePlus, supplying much in the way of technology and design for its off-shoot brand. It seems that OPPO wants a piece of the UK pie for itself so we could soon see the likes of the OPPO R17 Pro and Find X available to purchase.
