Google Pixel 3 Lite set to release on Verizon in Spring 2019 4

Remember that plasticky Pixel 3 Lite that leaked not too long ago? Well, since Google is the worst at keeping their plans hidden, it looks like we might see that phone sooner rather than later. The latest rumor pegs the Pixel 3 Lite and the Pixel 3 XL Lite heading to Verizon in early spring of 2019, which is really just a few months away.

On the other hand, though, the actual specs of these devices are still up in the air, although they're expected to be cheaper and generally slower than the regular Pixel 3. That will include a step down in processor (like a Snapdragon 600 or 700 chip) with just 32GB of storage, although they are rumored to have a headphone jack that's missing from Google's current flagships. Camera would be a pretty big concern, too, although most of Google's magic comes from their software.

Pricing is definitely going to make or break this device, and there's really no clear spot that this fits in Google's current lineup. The Pixel 3 really is expensive, so a device that's priced around $500 could stand to seriously undercut the flagship models. Unless, of course, it's a significantly worse phone, in which case the Lite phone will get eaten up by cheaper, high-performance devices in the mid-range.

Not sure Google is making a smart decision here, but hey, it'll be interesting to see how it shakes out. Too bad it'll still be a Verizon exclusive, though.
